I wouldn't call that siding with Hamas, Billy. A lot of people, including myself, are uncomfortable with military air strikes in one of the most densely populated places on Earth. No matter how smart or accurate your bombs may be, the civilian casualties will be enormous ... and have been.

In the long run, this tactic won't work and actually goes completely against the interests of Israel. It just perpetuates the cycle of hatred and violence and alienates Israeli Arabs, the fastest growing demographic within Israel (set to overtake the Israeli Jewish population by 2050).

Unless they carry out a campaign of utter genocide, there is no way for Israel to kill all the bad guys. These operations just radicalize more Palestinian youth to the cause of destroying Israel.

It didn't work for Al Qaeda. It didn't work for the Taliban. It didn't work for Hezbollah. It's not going to work for Hamas. How much historical failure do you need to see that these tactics don't work???

Part of the genius and success of General David Petraeus was that he kept these sorts of airstrikes to an absolute minimum in Iraq. He saw how they were working against our interests. Do you think Petraeus was "siding with Al Qaeda"???
